Our design proposals consist of 3 alternatives with a modern industrial aesthetic that creates clean lines and minimalist elements with industrial materials.

Alternative 1 was designed as an easy-to-build and least-cost alternative with minimal changes to the existing design. The other 2 alternatives aim to offer better aesthetics with more cost and more modifications.

ALTERNATIVE 1

In this alternative, the existing brick facade cladding on the first floor was preserved. Window frames were replaced with black aluminum. By adding cornices and profile facade elements around the windows, the facade proportions were adjusted to create a simple, minimalist, modern, and clean industrial effect.

The second floor and roof were covered with metal standing seam materials. The location for signage was redesigned to harmonize with the windows and achieve a balanced proportion. The green area in front of the building was integrated with the facade, adding a natural touch to the building’s exterior.

ALTERNATIVE 2

In this alternative, a fragmented mass effect was emphasized using different-colored materials, creating a sense of various buildings coming together. This way, the identity of Betenbough Homes, a real estate company, was reflected on the facade.

In this alternative, the existing brick facade cladding on the first floor was partially preserved. Window frames were replaced with black aluminum. By adding cornices and profile facade elements around the windows, the facade proportions were adjusted to create a simple, minimalist, modern, and clean industrial effect.

The roof eaves were trimmed to merge the roof with the facade in terms of mass and material effect. This resulted in a more minimal, modern, and impactful fragmented facade and mass design.

The sloping roof over the entrance was removed, and it was transformed into a terrace roof. A sign was also added above the entrance to emphasize the entrance and the company’s identity in a simple and effective manner.

The green area in front of the building was integrated with the facade, adding a natural touch to the building’s exterior.

ALTERNATIVE 3

In this alternative, the ground floor’s brick facade was partially preserved and supported with a veranda arcade design, creating a monumental entrance and ground floor effect.

The remaining fragmented masses were covered with black metal standing seam cladding, neutralizing the mass and creating a simple and modern aesthetic.
