BAYRAKTEPE OBSERVATION AREA
LOCATION | BİLECİK – TÜRKİYE |
SIZE | 350 m² |
YEAR | 2023 |
Designed on a hill overlooking the cityscape, the project’s circular structure, which is raised from the ground in order to see the view blocked by the trees, offers its users a panoramic view over the trees thanks to its form and the advantage of its location.
The cafeteria structure continues as a walkway on the upper level towards the wooded area and completes the full circle form. Together with the trees within it, it defines a multi-purpose event square with the Turkish flag at its center. Thus, the structure provides a 360-degree view.
The elevated cafeteria structure and the observation balcony create qualified semi-open spaces that serve the square around the square facing south on the ground floor. On the 1st floor, the cafeteria serves as a closed space, while on the ground floor it serves as a semi-open cafeteria overlooking the square and the forest. On the 2nd floor, an open observation terrace overlooks the view from the top level.
The building, which is perceived as a delicate and horizontal line on a high hill when viewed from the city side, aims to create a calm silhouette at the junction of trees and sky with its wooden and sky-reflecting glass facade design.
