SPA MODULE
Located in Trondheim, Norway, this Spa Module is an architectural composition aiming to establish a powerful visual and functional dialogue with nature within a limited footprint of 24 m². More than just a place for relaxation, the project is a refined response to the modern need for tranquility, characterized by its minimalist geometry, sustainable material choices, and flexible design principles. The vertical wooden elements defining the architectural character create visual continuity between the floor and ceiling planes, establishing a tectonic language that seamlessly integrates the structure into its natural landscape.
The spatial organization is built upon functional fluidity. The living area and kitchenette, integrated with the outdoors via transparent facades, welcome the user with a spacious volume, while the wet areas are centrally resolved to optimize circulation. Positioned at the far end of the plan, the sauna provides a secluded sanctuary, carefully balancing privacy and transparency. The private terrace directly connected to the sauna extends the spa experience beyond the interior boundaries, inviting the user into a deeper connection with the environment through outdoor showers and relaxation spots.
Sustainability and spatial adaptation are at the core of the project’s architectural DNA. The prefabricated wooden structure combines local production opportunities with eco-friendly building techniques, while the generous ceiling height and volumetric flexibility allow the design to easily adapt to various usage scenarios. Capable of withstanding Norway’s harsh climatic conditions, this structural framework blends aesthetic simplicity with functional richness, maximizing the potential of compact architecture.
