ÇINARPARK SAMANDIRA

Situated on a former nursery site in Samandıra, this project establishes a permeable living interface between the dense urban fabric and the expansive park zone to the southeast. The primary motivation of the design is to utilize existing natural data as architectural components, offering residents a multi-dimensional urban living experience in constant interaction with nature.
The structural layout is shaped by a dynamic composition of blocks of varying heights facing the park. The internal courtyards and gardens created by this arrangement blend seamlessly with the neighboring parkland, drawing the green continuity deep into the project site. A rational standardization in facade design is transformed into a fragmented identity through variations in color, windows, and balconies, allowing the project to distinguish itself positively from its surroundings. Plinths designed as one or two-story structures at the ground level reduce the mass to a human scale, creating an inviting street-level experience.
The sustainability vision of the project elevates nature from a mere visual element to an active participant in daily life. Diverse landscape scenarios, such as hydroponic agriculture, greenhouses, fragrance gardens, and biological ponds, offer residents the opportunity to connect with the soil without leaving the city. Approaches such as ecological restoration, passive cooling, and renewable energy integration transform the project into a contemporary “eco-city” model. By extending the urban park’s texture to every level—from green roofs and terraces to plinths and balconies—the Samandıra project blends economy and functionality with a holistic ecological lifestyle.
